Sounds like the local agency should be having oyster roasts and bake sales to get support and generate awareness, the county should have a plan and budget, and the state should help make it happen. We are dealing with issues for every level- environment, run-off, commercial, tourism, and safety. Why isn't there already a plan for this? What on earth are our elected officials doing? We live on the coast with inlet water ways that are prone to sand bars, this isn't a surprise. I guess the surprise will be when there aren't enough taxes to pay their salaries because the rivers aren't a boon for the economy, nor the environment, and hence tourism.

I have watched my canal fill up with trash. If you do not open Lockwood Inlet and we have another storm it will be devastating.

We need the Lockwood Folly Inlet to remain open. It is for many people in our area, to fish, catch shrimp and make a living for their family and our County. There's a great deal of people that go out fishing and clamming in a day, but their family are the recipients of this bounty... Please don't close an area of water that has been given to us by God...
