2 and 26 in district is absolutely unacceptable. coach King was ran out of there which I didn't like coach King either. but he had a way better record so it's not a lack of talent it's a lack of coaching! If you believe it's like a talent simply look at balmorhea Texas. they brought in a coach to win a state championship who had previously won a state championship and he did what needed to be done. Three out of four years to play in state is pretty exceptional

Talent is what OHS football program needs. Danny is working with what he gets. The problem is ECISD’S ZONING. All of our kids meaning the kids from the southside are in the zone to go to Permian I don’t think that’s fair either but the problem is lack of talent not coaching. Danny is an excellent coach and he genuinely cares about your kids beyond football. So with that being said a new Coach is not going to solve the problem without talent. Hell when he got there OHS football team was in that same boat and have been for years Lack of Talent People. Send him something to work with. Carmen Yonke

As a former alumni of Odessa high I don't see the coaching as the problem. I see lack of talent and the will to want to win. Coaches are the scape goat. No other coach that comes in can change the attitude of the players. The players have to want to change for them and their teammates. Every generation has coaches they don't like but you still show pride and compete at the best of your ability for one another. It starts with the mindset at home and then on the practice field. The next coach will have same outcome if attitudes don't change. Just my honest opinion. Kids have to make the change as a unit and not expecting parents to do it because they are the ones fighting together on the field. Have a blessed day.

Coaches can help build great players or tear them down and break their spirits which is worse than losing any game. So many players come and go because of shaming and insulting coaches.

I'm an alumni and OHS was tops in high school football and sports. Something needs to be done to bring the Broncos back into the game
