This is a petition to help allow the WH cheerleaders to be able to cheer at the tournaments and meets (at least the meets). The cheer team works so hard in every practice to be the best that they can possibly be. Every year, the cheerleaders have to have an updated SPORTS physical to let them even participate in practice. They must keep their grades up like every other athlete, yet they aren’t considered athletes. The seniors have been waiting four years to have a senior night, and now they don’t get to have one. It’s a big moment for the seniors to be recognized, too. Cheerleaders are always treated as less than everyone else, but we work just as hard. Allowing the cheerleaders to cheer while wearing masks and taking the proper precautions that every other sport takes, would give the senior cheerleaders a chance to have the best senior year possible, despite the rocky year it has been. I have been hearing from so many of the senior cheerleaders who feel forgotten by the athletic department. Their silence on this issue is hurtful and proves why we need to keep pushing for fairness.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like the school is finally waking up to how much our cheerleaders contribute. My sister worked just as hard as any other athlete for her spot on that mat and she deserves this recognition before she graduates.

The cheerleaders are an important part to the sport they are cheering for. They boost energy, give support, & encouragement to both the spectators & the team. They deserve recognition just as well as the team in fact they should be considered part of the team.
Cheerleading should be considered just as important as the teams they’re cheering for! And as long as they’re taking precautions to prevent the spread of the Covid virus.
These senior cheerleaders deserve the senior walk with their parents no matter what. Other schools are allowing so yall should be able too
let the seniors have the same in there sport of cheering as the players ha e playing football.
This country has equal rights for men and women. These young women deserve the same treatment as the young men! Give them their senior year memories!!! Life has already stolen enough from them. They are asking for the same as the players, and they deserve it and are entitled to it. We are not living in the 1800's where men and women are treated differently. Shame on you for taking us backwards in life!!!

They put in just as much time at practice as the football boys do. Its not right to treat them like they dont exist when they are out there supporting everyone else every single week.
