This is a petition to help allow the WH cheerleaders to be able to cheer at the tournaments and meets (at least the meets). The cheer team works so hard in every practice to be the best that they can possibly be. Every year, the cheerleaders have to have an updated SPORTS physical to let them even participate in practice. They must keep their grades up like every other athlete, yet they aren’t considered athletes. The seniors have been waiting four years to have a senior night, and now they don’t get to have one. It’s a big moment for the seniors to be recognized, too. Cheerleaders are always treated as less than everyone else, but we work just as hard. Allowing the cheerleaders to cheer while wearing masks and taking the proper precautions that every other sport takes, would give the senior cheerleaders a chance to have the best senior year possible, despite the rocky year it has been.
