My name is Denyse and I am the daughter of Angel and Maritza Gonzalez who have applied to have my father's sister, Victoria come to live with us in Australia. My sister's and I are adults and have never met our Aunt. Victoria lives in Chile and looked after my grandparents until they passed away. My father would like to be reunited with his sister, as she is his last remaining relative. Four years ago The Immigration Department denied my aunt's entry to Australia as she had a Kidney Transplant over 7 years ago, and claim she would be a burden on the Australian Government. They will not take into consideration her specialist reports that continuingly state her transplant was a success, healthy as ever or the fact that if health declines relating to her kidneys, that my father is more than willing to sign a waiver on costs! My family have lived in Australia for over 30 years and have worked the whole time they have been here.Victoria would have a roof over her head, extended family, private health insurance continue to recieve her pension from Chile, and is eager to be an active member of the community... but this is obviously not enough! We have been through Department of Immigration, Tribunal and now our case is sitting at Minister of Immigration Mr Chris Bowen's office. We have been advised it can take 6-12months for our case to be looked at, and that's if it even makes it to Mr Bowen's eye's to see. This is why I need YOUR help and as many people as you can get to sign this petition and to help get our story to Mr Bowen.
