I am 30 years old and non-binary. I've felt this way for as long as I can remember, but had no word that properly identified what that feeling was until I started exploring the concept of gender identities. This started after I met my wife, who is MtF transgender, and I discovered that my 4-year-old was FtM- just like your own son. Even though we'd never explained the concept of transgenderism to him, one day we woke to find "I A BOY" written in crayon on our kitchen wall.. We were shocked, but still didn't think he was old enough to know this for sure and so we didn't change our use of female pronouns. Then a few weeks later his father called him a "good girl" and it nearly brought my son to tears as he said proudly, "Dad, I'm not a girl. I'm a BOY!"
Sir, I don't know you but I do know how it feels to be non-binary and to have a transgender son. You have a wonderful opportunity in your lap to understand your children better than anyone else in the world can. This world is filled with people who want people like me, my wife, my son, my friends, and your children dead for simply existing. I've even had a family member try to take my child away from me with false accusations that my wife was sexually abusing my son.
Transgender people everywhere are at risk of being denied jobs, denied health care, denied marriage and adoption rights, having their children taken away, abandonment by friends and family, rape, and murder. Your children have a lifetime of dealing with transphobic people ahead of them and they'll need your support more than ever. Whether it's dealing with Conservatives who want them dead, or their own inner demons involving gender dysphoria and gender expression and whether or not to go through dangerous transition processes. As one parent to another, I'm begging you- listen to your children about their gender identities and use their proper name and pronouns. I lost my entire family when my son and I came out as transgender and they refused to acc

I’m a trans man in my early 30s, and I wasn’t able to come out until a couple of years ago. I suffered with depression all my life, but transitioning has almost cured it. Depression held me back a lot, and I’ve only just begun to work towards the career and life I’ve always wanted. Dysphoria is very real, and it’s important that people who want to transition are able to, so they can fulfil their full potential for happiness and success in life!
