A GSA would go a long way toward helping students who are unsure of their identity and need a supportive community of others like them.

I think that this would be an amazing thing to have at CCA. There are so many LGBTQ+ people at this school and to have a GSA would help us feel much safer. This school is so accepting and we love to be as open to ideas as possible and this a wonderful opportunity for the school. Recently there has been a lot of hate crimes and there has always been hate in general towards LGBTQ+ people and to show people that we will not tolerate that and that we all love one another would be such a great thing.

A GSA wouldn't be a platform for politics or any kind of delinquency, as many would like to believe. Without a dialogue between the straight and queer populations at CCA (and trust me, they both exist in significant numbers), queer people at CCA are being deprived of an outlet for any potential feelings of confusion or hopelessness they may be having about their sexuality. While there may not be not be any overt homophobia at CCA, its sheer lack of a GSA sends a message to queer people (whether ot not they realize yet themselves they're not straight) that they are not allowed to be open about their sexuality. Only when the current administration at CCA realizes that in their eyes, the LGBTQ+ community is stigamized and they take steps to diminish that stigma, will everyone at CCA really feel welcome to be themselves.

An opportunity for open and intelligent discussion of issues facing youth in their developing lives and the understanding of differences will only help to foster a stronger society.

Knowing the diversity within CCA, I believe the students should have this opportunity if they so desire.

I'm surprised this hadn't been done sooner, but I'm very glad that someone is putting forth such effort to enact this.

I think this would be a wonderful oppurtunity to allow LGBT students to mingle, I'm entirely supportive of this and would love to join.

As a former student of CCA, I completely understand the need for a GSA. Just because CCA is tolerant and accepting, doesn't mean that students feel the same way.

To deny the formation of a GSA is to deny who our school is!
