This needs to happen. Just because we are a creative arts school doesn't mean there isn't prejudice. There may not be as much as other schools but it's still valid. Plus this group can be used to educate younger individuals who are in denial of, or confused about their gender, or sexuality. This group can only be good.

I am saddened by the fact that to this day, my alma mater has not given a home to a much needed organization in the school. I am saddened that even to this day, the fight That I fought in high school has not been won. This is illegal. This is unacceptable. CCA needs to walk the walk they keep promoting. Don't be hypocritical Ms. Smith. Commit to representing diversity. Be on the good side of history. Stand with us. Thank you. The struggle will continue.

During my time at CCA I saw multiple people try and start a GSA only to face the internalized homophobia of the administration. No matter how accepting CCA appears to be, students who have not yet figured out who they are need a community who is ready made to answer their questions, support them, and educate them about the LGBTQ community.

Students need a safe place to nurture their growth and reinforce their future, no matter who they are. Everyone deserves a home and place to be who they want to be. I hope this school can become something better for those searching for themselves.
