Help CCA Get a GSA

I am a leader of a GSA in Kansas, and would highly recommend that such be implemented in every school possible. I believe that there are many benefits to such things, as students typically build a strong sense of togetherness and community when involved, and tend not to feel so isolated due to their LGBT sense of identity not being prevalent in the mainstream. The integration of LGBT education in GSA can greatly help students learn about their history, as well as correctly educate allies willing to learn more. Overall, I sincerely believe that the implementation of a GSA in this wonderful school would be highly beneficial to all of those involved, and deeply hope that this will be enacted.

Why don't we already have one of these? CCA is known throughout Chattanooga to be the most supportive high school of all kinds of people. Make this happen.

I think this is a great idea ... I think we all should support one another and make steps to make our school as non-discriminative as possible !

CCA is one of the most accepting environments i've been in. to deny this isn't okay.

Ms. Smith, to deny this group of individuals a unified voice is to deny their existence. These students and the ones to come need a safe haven to talk freely, to find an alliance within a state and country that is rapidly changing in values. These students need refuge from the torment they find inside themselves and to foster friendships with others that have been through the very same situation. I ask that you see these students like everyone else and provide them the emotional support they might need, because to deny that would be to deny their own human rights as students, as young adults, and as members of the LGBTQ community.
