It is shameful that CCA does not already have a club like this. I emplore Mrs. Smith and the rest of the faculty to support this initiative by CCA students.

CCA is probably the most accepting school of LGBTQIA+ people. It is vital we have a GSA so that we can further visibility within CCA.

My step-daughter attends CCA, and would thrive in an organization for allies and LGBT students. It's actually rather hard for me to believe that there are any obstacles whatsoever in the development of such an alliance; in such a trying time for the marginalized, we should be doing everything we can to empower the students of CCA to rise up, band together, and change the world.

As a gay, non-binary member of the current tenth grade student body at CCA, while it is definitely a supportive school, I've overheard many a conversation where someone's non-straight sexuality, or non-cis gender was discussed and then reacted to in a negative way. Even hearing this sort of thing once is already too much. Every time I am shut down mid-sentence and am dismissed as a "special snowflake," it is too much. While the majority of our school's student body is supportive and understanding, some have simply not been educated on LGBTQ+ identities and their history, leaving many confused and dismissive of the subject. A Gay-Straight Alliance would be an incredible educational opportunity and is absolutely necessary for a school whose administration is so keen on putting out anti-bullying messages.

My daughter Meredith is transgender, a successful author, and an alumnus of CCA. It would have been wonderful to have this alliance when she attended!

As a former CCA student, one of the many things I would've loved to have seen is a GSA.

This is a major step in the right direction towards equality, and I would be proud of a club which makes equality in schools possible.
No better time than now.
