Help Castle Square Tenants Organization reduce traffic accidents and slow cars down in our community!
Castle Square Tenants Organization is applying to the Neighborhood Slow Streets Program. Neighborhood Slow Streets is a new approach to traffic calming requests in Boston. The aim of the program is to reduce the number and severity of crashes on residential streets, lessen the impacts of cut-through traffic, and add to the quality of life in our neighborhoods. Each year, residents, neighborhood associations, and other community-based organizations will be able to apply for traffic calming in a specific neighborhood. Selected neighborhoods will work with the Boston Transportation Department and Public Works Department to plan and implement their Neighborhood Slow Streets project.
CSTO is applying because our community is located in a very high traffic area close to public schools, churches, parks, Tufts Medical Center, and parking lots. We ask for your support by signing our petition: help us reduce traffic accidents and slow cars down in our community!

I am currently finalizing the formal application for the Neighborhood Slow Streets Program to ensure our community concerns reach the city planners. Email your local district councilor today to demand they prioritize our request for traffic calming measures.

Reaching this new level of support shows that our neighbors are finally fed up with reckless driving in this area. We need this momentum to force the city to notice our application. Post this link on your Facebook page and text three friends who live in our community to get them involved today.

This is a great idea. walking around castle square is getting dangerous with how fast people drive lately.
I'm in full support! Such a busy area and the residents and pedestrians deserve to feel safe!
I support CSTO's efforts to bring traffic calming to the neighborhood. Castle Square serves families with children and seniors, all of whom deserve a safe environment. There's much traffic consisting of people passing through to other destinations, but when they're doing that, they also should drive as if their own kids lived here.
I support Castle Square Apartments application for City of Boston Neighborhood slow street initiative.
I support Castle Square in this endeavor as well as Old Dover & Harrison Avenue. perhaps the Slow Street program should be incorporated into the entire ODNA, Castle Square neighborhoods?
Working and riding a bike in the city, traffic safety is very important.

Too many people rip through these streets to get to the highway. Kids are everywhere, it needs to slow down.
