Save the Belknap School and Hold the Belknap Condo Developers to their word!

I volunteer to help in anyway I can.

Green space is very important to the environment and our neighborhood. By paving over the old Belknap frontage, it would drastically alter the historical properties of this location. The build does not need more spaces. Let them use the current parking lots, build an underground lot or let owners park on the street like many Belknap/ Highland neighborhoods.

I was a member of the group that wrote the neighborhood plan. Our positions on the committee were officially certified by the city of Lousville and the plan was passed by the Board of Aldermen. We understood this as a legally binding agreement between Belknap Neighborhood Association and city government. The Belknap School building and property were also officially and legally recognized as landmarks. Many in the neighborhood including me fought the condos that were built.The condos were finally allowed to go forward based on the developer's promise to preserve the property. In my opinion to go forward with this plan and to ignore all the promises that have been made to the neighborhood in the past both by developers of this property and the city of Louisville, is a disgraceful breech of integrity on both the part of the city and the developer.

I am totally against anything that would substantially change the footprint or appearance of this old school building. I am also against taking away any grassy area or healthy trees.

I agree...we need to preserve history, beauty and landmark property.

This areas should Stay Green!

Please leave Belknap School as it is. It so enhances the neighborhood! I went there from kindergarten through grade 6 and I'm still proud to say I was part of that beautiful place.

I was planning to buy here when the school units are complete, but I definitely won't if this happens.

Save the green. If parking is needed, build an appropriate multilevel that has a small footprint.

The Belknap School building is a historic site. Only because the developer agreed to restrict density and keep green space was the project allowed. These were binding elements and need to remain binding.

I fully agree with the points made in this petition.

I wish developers/builders would follow existing rules/guidelines put in place to protect areas instead of trying to change the guidelines after they have been approved. It seems it's always about the profit with total disregard for the neighborhood.

I support the petition to save the Belknap School and grounds.

There is no need to change existing rules and guidelines. They were set in place for exactly this reason- to limit the ability of non thinking short sighted people from destroying the area. No to the developers- they need to figure out something else in this case.

The density of this residential area is already at capacity and the calming and healing effects of keeping as much of nature around us exceeds the monetary value of a few more dwellings.

The condos already eliminated one of the few green areas close by conducive for kid play, dog play, or to just sit under a tree. Don't lose more green area!

The original agreement was researched and agreed upon, and it should stand, binding elements, existing green space, and all. The area is dense enough already, and the metro reforestation project needs more green space, not less.

Must leave the green current space alone.
