As was the case two months ago with the Design Committee, we strongly support holding the developer to the original binding elements of Case #14263. We are particularly surprised that the new design elements still includes parking that paves over a portion of the green space on the corner of Wrocklage and Wibben. This was expressly rejected at the Design Review meeting two months ago. At that session, the board clearly ruled that no green space on the corner of Wrocklage and Wibben be destroyed.

The preservation of green space is critical to the long term health and vitality of our neighborhood and city. We do not support revising established agreements to allow the expansion of unit and/or parking at the expanse of green space

I feel what has been done so far is great. Beautiful design with the second building etc; however, finish the units and let people see what they are buying...then perhaps you won't need additional parking. Being in the original school building is enough of a draw for people of this neighborhood. Additional loss of green space and additional concrete would detract from the lush neighborhood.

The Belknap building is the keystone structure in our community and the green space is part and parcel of that presence. Degrading the character of the Belknap School site would be destroying the very icon of this neighborhood. Even if this were not the case, which it is, this area is already congested with street parking and retail traffic.
Our neighborhood agreed to restoration of this classic building and site, not degradation of the site and our neighborhood. Please do not allow this. The proposed change of plans to increase population density at the expense of green space and historic architectural character, would devalue our real estate and disrupt our community spirit. We want to remain a family friendly place to live.
As a child growing up and going to school at Belknap, I remember the rose gardens on the side. The front of the building had wonderful spring flowering trees. The landscape needs to be restored as part of the building restoration. Belknap Neighborhood deserves no less!

I went to school here. I work two blocks from the building. I live five blocks from the building. It has architectural and historic value.
