Are you tired of your local streets being used as a speedway? Cars and motorcycles use Stapylton Road, Blunder Road and Wadeville Streets in Heathwood as a drag strip with offenders often accelerating and/or driving at speed along these roads. Excessive noise and excessive speed is visual and audible problem . The impact on the area and its residents is also considerable. Residents should not have to put up with excessive noise from hoons any longer. The local council and federal members simply pass the buck to the Queensland Police. The Federal sitting member Karen Struthers has an office on Stapylton Road and although aware of the problem nothing is done. When is enough enough? Speed cameras. Red light cameras. Speed bumps. Road silencers Increased police patrols. All are effective deterrents. All need to be considered. However, the authorities will only respond to a public outcry.
