Healthy Horizons is a uniquely Saskatchewan based magazine created by Saskatchewan people. Great care is taken to control the content and the type of advertising that is entered into the magazine. Healthy Horizons makes an excellent publication available to the public, enabling people to make good, informed choices on behalf of their own health.
The proposed budget of more than $40,000 dollars which was printed in the Spring 2012 issue of the magazine is what we anticipate we need to cover the cost of operating. We need financial support from Healthy Horizons Association to offset the time it will take to increase revenue from other sources. This will cover one full year of publication print and setup costs, Dr. Fox’s pay at less than minimum wage, as well as a half time advertising position. Dr. Fox and the Healthy Horizons Magazine needs one full year of financial support in order to steer the magazine in the direction of self sufficiency. Healthy Horizons has enough money in reserve to pay for as much as two full years if necessary.
The President and Vice President of Healthy Horizons would like to give Dr. Fox the opportunity to help us develop the magazine to its fullest potential. We care about the future of this magazine and believe it is the best way to satisfy the mandate of our organization on a local level. This best satisfies the needs of the general public who need access to reliable health information.
By attaching my signature to this petition I am stating my agreement with the President of Healthy Horizons and stating my wish that Healthy Horizons continue supporting the publication of Healthy Horizons Magazine under the direction of Dr. Fox as Editor.
This magazine is one of the only things i actually look forward to reading in the mail. please keep it going for us saskatchewan folks, we need this info.
