Did you know that in North Carolina, BlueCross BlueShield pays your health care provider 10% LESS than the Medicaid system? (For certain services) That's correct, Medicaid in NC (and some other states) pays more for some health care services than commercial insurance plans like BCBS, Cigna and Aetna. In 2015 BCBSNC paid out over $15 million in compensation to the top 10 executives while they raised premiums for patients and paid many providers less than Medicaid. Hard working citizens are paying for the Medicaid benefits through taxes, and then paying high premiums for their own insurance and in turn the Medicaid patient often gets higher quality of care and more access to care because Medicaid pays the provider more than commercial insurance plans. Please sign the petition if you support legislation that would require commercial insurance plans to reimburse health care providers at a minimum of the Medicaid fee schedule. Let's start correcting the balance of power in health care one signature at a time.**The results of this petition will be given to NC State Representatives and NC Insurance Commissioner.
No private insurance should pay less than taxpayer funded programs period. That doesnt mean lower tax funded programs reimbursements either it means allow capitalism and competition between private insurance companies to earn their customers. No more monopolistic agendas in healthcare!!!!
