Head Start to remain under leadership of Harris County Department of Education

HCDE is a structured educational program and so is the HCDE Head Start program like no other in the county.

Head Start is the first place that our children begin to socialize and learn to be an individual. Is very important to maintain this program for all children and their future.

Families need this program if you take it away so many people will be effected.

I was a former parent and now an employee at HCDE Head Start. This program helped my children so much they are now thriving in their classes.

While there are several grantees in the Harris County area who provide services for Head Start, I personally have seen the rich dedication and consistent concern of the administrators teachers and all the staff members to the program. Harris County Department of Education Head Start centers stand above the others. From the family service support team that are located at the administration building all the way to the center directors and teachers there is a love for children and families. They do not want these children to just attend the program but they want them to thrive once they bridge over and attend public schools. The services that are offered to the family range from helping them connect with resources in the community to providing opportunities for the parents to grow and develop their leadership skills by being involved in the Parent-Teacher organizations as well as by volunteering at the center's.

Head Start has produced some amazing students that have went on to be great productive young adults. Children need to have this program to get a head start in the educational journey.

This not only help my children be extremely ready for school they've excelled at every level and it's definitely because of this program helping them learn things that they wild have had to wait to get to school and learn I'm grateful for Headstart and thank the government for it please give others the same opportunity that my children were fortunate to have

I have been working for Head Start for quite some time. I have been fortunate enough to work with such wonderful parents and children. They deserve to have an education that will start the beginning of their journey to an educated life they deserve. An education isn't something that should be taken away from those less fortunate who may not be able to receive it if it was not for Head Start. Think about all of the children that will be affected they truly deserve this program they are our future.

As a former parent and current grandparent Head Start has made a difference in my family's life. I have been employed with HCDE Head Start for 15 years. I see the positive impact that Head Start has on our children, families, employees and community everyday. The relationship between HCDE and Head Start not only provides excellent services within the community but is the foundation of education.

Help save Head Start

HCDE provides excellence in early childhood education. Children and families have benefitted tremendously under their leadership. Any disruption in services to children and families that they serve would be a mistake in my opinion.

HeadStart is a wonderful place where children learn and families grows.
