I know the background leading up to this ISOLATED event and although out of respect for eddy I won't post the details, let me assure you, you would be surprised that he lasted as long as he did before being broken!!

An excellent paramedic, leader and mentor. Imagine relentless working with no breaks as standard practice, constantly late off and is expected. No other ambulance to send for 90 mins on this particular call... Just shows how overworked and understaffed we are.

Poor guy, sacked cor what we put up with more and more. UK employees get breaks, why shouldnt ambulance staff???

A kind, hard working and dedicated man. Why is nobody asking what could have driven him to react in a manner uncharacteristic to his entire previous 30 yr career? The government fails to fund the service properly yet expects frontline staff to work themselves into the ground. No more.

this paramedic was honest enough to say he was not fit enough to carry on and gets punished for it but if he had carried on and made a mistake would of been punished for that, at the end of the day we are human not robots and this can't continue.

I feel that this Paramedic acted in a very brave manner and realised that he was not fit to carry on with his duty's , what do you expect from him surely he has recognised that his decision making is impaired and cannot continue. The human body is not designed to be awake during the night & that is a scientific fact, I would seriously advise you to reconsider this case - I would recommend this Paramedic takes legal action against you & feel he would win, we all get exhausted at work

Very harsh and in my opinion wrong decision previous unblemished Professional Service should have rung alarm bells that this Paramedic was at the point of BURNOUT.

i use to work for the ambulance service , had same unsafe practice within it ! Had to start using health and safety act 1974 part 7 A , to protect the patient and myself ! used it on three occassions!

It has been reported that he was going for 11 hours without a break. if you are unsafe and have an accident you are also held accountable. Why is the service not being held to account for not resourcing adequately.

hope sense prevails. I experienced gross misconduct for suffering a breakdown because unfortunately I was in uniform at the time.

I think it is disgusting for someone to be treated in this way by people who obviously have no idea of the pressures that ambulance staff are under
