When this sort of thing happens there is a problem with the whole system being unsafe. People on the end of their shifts should be tracked and consulted as it is the employer who should ensure they feel safe to go on after, for example, a long night without a break. This was a wrong decision by HCPC

What a saddening disgraceful state of affairs. So that's the tribute to a 30year dedicated career? Happening far too often that the current system breaks a serving employee of the national health service

Targets, targets, targets is all the Government and ambulance Trusts care about. We are all human and can get fatigued through relentless pressure. HCPC should look closer at the establishments involved not the individual.

knowing several people in th LAC i feel it is about time unions do something decent for their menbers...they are absolutely useless,not fighting for any of you .

so disappointing to hear yet again the lack of support there is for paramedics who are expected to work 12 hr shifts which are relentless and stressful, without a break. sounds to me like he was doing the sensible thing by taking himself out of service instead of endangering pt''s, himself and other road users.

as a serving paramedic with 32 years service behind me i ask that the HCPC reconsider their findings and resolve this issue accordingly

hcpc advice: carry on working even though you know it's unsafe as your duty is to the public. They got it so wrong this time. The hcpc need to be held responsible for this bad decision.

I totally agree. This utterly professional, caring individual was let down by the system., and it clearly shows that the HCPC did not look at the bigger picture. This Paramedic ness to be reinstated immediately and his record be wiped clean.

Unfortunately someone will be seriously injured or die in a fatigue related road crash, either during shift or on the way home before people start paying attention to the ridiculous conditions we are often expected to respond in.

Everything Matt Waller has written holds true, and those who have persecuted Edmond Daly ought to be sacked themselves; if not one of them can recognise the current working conditions as the abuse that it is, then they're not fit to hold office. Are we finally bereft of common sense, decency or compassion?
