This is a true misscarage of justice. Working 12 hour night shifts has a detrimental effect on mental health and having to do a late job on top further impacts. I have had great difficulties myself but luckily for me i just inappropriatly insulted control. After a good sleep I apologiesed and took them donuts. Edmond Daly should not be punished for being a humsn being.

This paramedic did what he thought was best at the time. A decision many of us face more and more but don't have the courage to make. He deserves support.

Why do you think so many london paramedics have left???? Yes, we were all exhausted from the pressure and stress put on us from the LAS not the patients!!!!

He was simply being responsible by taking himself and his crew mate off duty due to being exhausted. HCPC should be challenging the service to look at their level of resources and staff welfare.

a terrible decision, overlooking the root cause of the problem and punishing an paramedic of good standing. This is why the hcpc is feared in a way it should not be. I thought that the decision was supposed to be made by his peers. I cannot see any front line paramedic not sympathising with his decision..

he is a paramedic, he is human, he is not a robot, if we say we are tired use common sense, we don't refuse because we are lazy or cant be bothered, its because clinically we can no longer function at safe levels.

this could have been any one of us serving. the pressure is getting to boiling point and this paramedic obviously went over this point. that should have been taken into consideration ans management brought to task not him

hcpc are too powerfull and can end someone's career at a whim. this is essentially a whistle-blower incident and got sacked for it

best of luck in getting this resolved. Paramedics do an amazing job and should be protected from ridiculous work situations. Shame on you management and HCPC.
