could be anyone of us. The GMC wouldn't do this to a doctor. Why is the GCPC being so harsh when he could have potentially made a far bigger mistake.

Supporting a fellow ambulance staff member, it gets to a point where you are so exhausted that mistakes will get made, something has to give and I dont think a 30 year career should end this way.

By declaring himself unsafe to continue due to extreme tiredness he surely did the right thing. He's being punished for systemic failures not for being a 'bad' paramedic. As a result of this the profession has lost an exemplary member and is therefore weaker for it, so one may argue that the HCPC is itself in breech of its standards

It was a pleasure to know Eddy and a privilege to work with him. He was a credit to the LAS. Look after and protect your staff - don't bully and break them!

its time to stop blaming the staff and get management to look after their employees better

The man was following the Hcp rules he was unfit for duty and declared himself so surely this would have been justified if he had carried on but he for the safety of himself and the patient . Disgusting treatment of a experienced paramedic .

being too tired is fact and the hcpc should be holding LAS responsible for this, not the paramedic
