Sorry, but you have got this wrong, LAS was guilty of bullying. H&S and your own guidelines show this paramedic was correct in stating he was too tired to continue! Where is your humanity?

Workload up, stress levels up, 30 years unblemished record, 11 hours without a break, and a single error in judgement should not result in a suspension.

It's not the shifts that are too long it's the system we work in regularly completing 10 hours with out a break. There comes a point when we are no longer safe to practice.

its about time that people looked at the way we are treated and took notice. this job is in dire straights. to suspend a long term paramedic who was acting as he should. he was thinking that if he acted in a professional capacity whilst being unfit to do so he could end up in prison. it states in law that you should not drive tired. i am disgusted that once more this profession is being dragged through the mud by people who dont do our job and dont understand or care the pressures we are under.
