As someone about to train as a Paramedic I want to know this kind of blatent disregard to both the welfare of the public and also the people who care for them in favour of meeting made up targets for political gain can't carry on.
We are just numbers and our welfare don't count. As you said we in a lose or lose situation.

Cannot believe this crazy decision. None should have to work 11 hours without a break and after admitting they are too tired/unwell to continue be punished for it. Please see sense HCPC!

Hopefully this petition makes a difference! We don't know the full details but from what I've read the sacking of this experienced clinician is outrageous!

disgusting the way he's been treated. Let him return to practice immediately. He was so exhausted due to the impossible workload, like paramedics across the land. It needs to be looked at and addressed.

Yet if the paramedic had crashed enroute and killed / maimed someone or their treatment had been compromised through misjudged decisions due to exhaustion he would be slammed for that too!

No other profession would be allow a HUMAN BEING to work 11 hours without a break. Professional drivers ie hgv, pcv are covered by the law and must have a break after 4 1/2 hours. Why do you H

Absolutely disgusting treatment of a person who has served his community probabley all his working life, I know times are tough and the recession has had the knock on effect of everyone doing more for less and quicker but where not robots!! it's about time the people who care for others are care for!!

disgraceful attitude toward a man who has faithfully given his service to his community for 30 years! He was in a no win situation. He goes on the job tired and makes a mistake = sacked/struck off. He doesn't go because he is tired and it is unsafe = sacked/suspended from practice. The HCPC has failed in its duty to this man as has LAS. You care more about target than you do about your staff, their safety and that of the patients in their care.

In my opinion this paramedic has been punished for being exhausted and a review of the utilisation figures for the LAS will identify that he is not alone. We are all at risk of clinical errors when demand is so high and rest is so infrequent. There is a moral obligation to seek justice on his behalf.
