I agree that he should have his name cleared even if he doesn't want his job back his whole reputation of a 30 year career and I think it's an absolute disgrace. The fact that there was no other ambulance available for half an hour after he refused to carry on and take the call is what's being ignored here and he's being used as a scapegoat by the HCPC

as a nurse ive noticed there is no such thing as patient care its all about targets and its wrong ... he was clearly looking out for his patients knowing he was that tired he could of made a mistake and after 30 yrs experience this is how he is treated ... does not surprise me though ... its very sad

Frightening how many of us have been in this situation, too tired to speak, driving with the window open just to stay awake and just praying were not called to a job where we actually have to engage a brain so exhausted its dangerous

i would not feel safe under H&S to continue working without a break after this amount of time. Our job means we need to recognise and treat life threatening conditions instantly and this can lead to mistakes without staff having fluid and nourishment.

This is a sad indictment of the leadership direction the LAS have taken. Any progress they may have made with staff will have regressed around ten years I believe. I think this man was courageous in his decision and should be commended for taking responsibility not only for his own well being but that of the public if he was truly too exhausted to continue.

I have 24 years NHS service, and have witnessed staff burn out of both professional and support staff. Sadly, Edmond Daly's case is not an isolated one. Turn back the tide of destruction of NHS staff and services, vote out the Tories on 7 May.

Just retired from 34 years service. Paramedics are run relentlessly ragged by the employers who don't give a damn about their staff. I call on the HCPC to protect the paramedic for once and tell the employer that they are out of order.

He couldn't win. If he had made a mistake due to fatigue he could have killed someone. He made a very wise judgement call in voicing his concerns. He should be supported not punish for being so honest in what must have been a difficult shift. Been there done that. You have my support brother. Good luck.
