ABOUT TIME. Its crazy that a landlord can just ignore basic repairs in half the state. Fix this broken system.
Renting in Kentucky is a nightmare. I had to live without heat for two weeks in January because the owner wouldn't answer the phone. Legal standards are way overdue.
Fairness for everyone.
Glad someone is finally looking at these laws. Tenants have zero rights right now and it shows in the condition of these properties.
My landlord refuses to fix the mold in our bathroom and says it is my problem. This guy is a slumlord and the law lets him get away with it. Please pass this.

This needs to happen. The current landlord/tenant laws are primitive and one-sided. To think, in this modern society, a Landlord can rent a house with no running water, or heat, or doors for that matter, in 116 of 120 counties in Kentucky, and have no liability for repairs or damages incurred. There needs to be EQUAL protection for tenants, period. To the Kentucky Senate - this needs to happen now.
