With this being one of the first skateparks in Kansas that we have all skated for many years, it is a great thing for them to have the opportunity to expand and have a better park for the kids to skateboard at.

I may not be a skater, but I know many people who are passionate about it, whether it be a present or past-time hobby. The only legitimate argument I can think of against improving the skate park is cost. In my opinion, it is always a wise investment to provide a place for people to be active and pursue their hobby locally.

My son doesn't skate anymore but this was such an asset as he grew up! Kids need something to do!!!

it would be nice to have a bigger one than the little kids that are learning to skate wont get ran over and hurt I've seen more people get hurt just because theres less room but more people bigger is better

We need to expand the Hays skatepark mainly because it is falling apart and increasing risks for injuries. Also, if you think about it, you build a larger skatepark, attract more teens, it keeps them out of trouble and out of everyones way:) so its just a win win situation. All the town has to do is expand the skatepark and make it better!:)

Skateboarding is getting big among all ages in hays, some kids use this as a way of getting out of trouble, support this for the skateboarders of hays and surrounding areas

Lets get the skatepark updated.....17 years with no update is shocking. Any physical activity for all ages is a plus to our town, any town. Lets work toward this project, so Hays can also host events, workshops, and contests! Yes, even skateboarding competitions will bring in revenue to our small businesses, just like all the other sport complexes in our town. Benefit all our local merchants, hotels, food industries, lets not be narrow-minded in what some people consider competitive sports!!!
