The board actions need an independent review and adjustment. Also I do not think Realtors should serve on the board as they benefit directly from the increase in property value.

I request an immediate election to change taxation in Hays County to purchase price with no added assessments unless new buildings are added.

We’ve lived in our house over 32 years, both retired. Our taxes are working their way towards $1,000 a month!!!!

Please stop this madness! Our property appraisal jumped from $364k to $959k in one year! We paid $320k two years ago.

Appraisals/Property taxes are outrageous. Even with homestead exeption with 10% yearly increase I wouldn't be able to afford my house in a couple of years.

My wify and I are both retired she is 74 and I am 75 our assessment went by 60% or $300,,000.00 it’s crazy! We can’t afford to live in Travis Country

I strongly support the move to base land taxes on purchased price in place of valuation. I believe this move is necessary so that long-term residents are not priced out of our neighborhood.

Regardless of this petition outcome, the cap for annual tax increases need to be reduced from 10% to no more than the consumer price index. Seniors on fixed incomes rarely get more than a 3% cost of living increase, so it doesn’t take long to find oneself in a deep hole.
