Taxes must be based on the value of the house at THE PURCHASE PRICE!!!! Stop taxing people out of there homes, especially with the elderly who are on FIXED incomes.

I've been in Wimberley for the past 8 years. We purchased our home then and a comfortable price based on our income at the time. The pandemic made this difficult to due but somehow we managed to get thru. Unfortunately, with inflation and the housing market booming I'm unsure how much longer we will beable to keep upnwith the taxes and stay in the town we love. I graduated my oldest a few years ago and I was really hoping my baby girl would beable to get to enjoy Wimberley ISD for the entirety of her education. She began here at 4 but if my taxes go up at the rate they have been based on my neighbor who bought there property in the millions we aren't going to beable to make that happen. It's sad that the increased value of my home comes as no value to me unless I sell which is really the last thing I want to do. Hopefully this petition can help us and other families like us.

This is very accurate of the absolute negligent leaders pocketing money and not putting back into our county... Who's been winning? Not the residents of Dripping Springs that's for sure!

This is long overdue. The purchase price is all that matters until it's sold and purchased yet again. That is the point taxation should be changed. The counties all treat our homes as their deep-pockets bank account from which they draw whatever they want. BTW, I am not from the Netherlands, and have no idea how that error occurred.
