Besides support for local residents, a store on Hayden Island could attract Vancouver business as WA stat sales tax exemption for groceries still excludes “prepared food,” “soft drinks,” or “dietary supplements.” Plus poor traffic planning by Oregon and Portland makes getting on and off the island quite difficult for residents in increasingly longer commute periods, thus a captive audience.

It would be good to have an Albertsons as the Safeway had more than groceries. Thank goodness for Target. Not quite the same as a full service grocery store.

Yes, along it is a high end such as a Zupans type.

Being able to shop locally near where you live is an equality issue, not just a convenience issue. It is difficulty to attract and keep long-term renters and potential homeowners without basic necessities like a grocery store. My zip code is 97212.

Every resident living on the Island would benefit from a Grocery Store. It is not fair they only have the choices of Target or crossing the bridge.

My zip code is 97211, very close to Hayden Isl. I would shop at a grocery store there if one was available.

I’ve lived on the island a long time and will probably be here a while! We need a local grocery store that the island residents can walk to!! I loved Zupans
