Same teams win just because they're "known" to be good. When they mess up or their skill levels are just mediocre it gets overlooked.... favoritism

There were many skilled and talented cheerleading teams participating in today's Western
Congratulations to all the Coaches and Teams who participated in Western Regional Cheerleading Competition today (18Oct2018), at Kalani High School. All of your dedication and hard work to help perpetuate the sport of Cheerleading does not go unnoticed, Good Job! Although I am not a judge, I am still trying to understand how the Kapolei High School Varsity Cheerleading Team (KHSVCT) ended up with the scores awarded by the judges today? On 29Sep2018, The KHSVCT participated in the preseason Cheerleading Competition earning them an overall score of 460.25 pts and today 414 pts? Today's KHSVCT cheer routine involved a more difficult Pyramid and Standing Tumbling routine than at the Preseason but it results in a lower score? The judges need to be held accountable for how they award their points and be consistent across the board. More importantly, they need to understand the profound impact their scores have on cheer teams and how it can and will undermine the spirit of competitive cheerleading.
As parents, we are all proud of what you accomplished today and can only ask that you continue to do your best no matter what the outcome.

I feel Bad that Kapolei did awesome on there routines, they were so in synced and where together in landing and dancing.
