I really think its time for new judges! Kapolei did an awesome job and other schools that had less talent got higher scores. Now there is something wrong with the picture so much unfairness in the world we live in.

I dont agree with the scores that had took place with the difficulty kapolei had put out there. I believe that the judges should be fair with the critiques and scoring and the skill levels that was done today.

Agree any but the blind would have to admit that there was something wrong with the final tally at this competition and wasn’t one of the three judges missing on the floor for the last two or three events of this ?

I’ve been to a lot of these competitions and I know what the judges are “suppose” to look for and by today’s scoring I feel like some teams got cheated out of getting the score they deserve while others got what they didn’t deserve!!! Come on judges stop with the favoritism or whatever it’s being called. Yes our team moved on but that’s besides the point. There were other teams that shouldn’t have while others were over looked. It’s sad to see your athlete cry because she did NOTHING wrong. She caught her flyer, she did her routine & jumps but yet she feels like she failed. I told her she didn’t fail, those judges did.

From watching videos posted of routines and some squads placing well below their teams level of routine compared to those that do mediocre. I think there should be change made either by redoing the way routines are scored or new judges coming in.
You can and should do better.

The integrity of this sport is at stake if judges continuously judge unfairly. For the integrity of the athletes in this sport DO YOUR JOB AS A JUDGE

This is my first year watching cheer competitions and coming from someone who doesn’t know anything about judging the Kapolei Varsity teams got ripped off!! They need to replace the judges.

All teams did a good job...some, even great! Placement did not accurately reflect performance and skill levels. I looked at several judging forms; they're pretty straight forward, which leads me to believe the mis-scoring was intentional. No, I'm not qualified to judge but neither am I blind. Let's hope for fair judging next comp.

We are new to the island, but not new to cheer competition. My daughter is on JV, and I videotaped each of the JV and Varsity teams entire cheer routines to watch later, because we love cheer. I was completely taken aback when they announced the judging results. I thought it was an obvious mistake and I expected a speedy correction, but the correction never came. We came home and watched the competition over again and a few teams multiple times. The difficulty and execution of both of Kapolei’s teams, JV and Varsity warranted much high scores and placement. It left a bad taste in our mouth and confused about competition in Hawaii. The integrity of the sport is at stake. I do hope that OIA has different, more attentive and informed judges.

As a coach it hurts my heart that I can’t explain how or why my team placed super low. We have a target Range and we made sure we maxed out everything and pushed our team to hit that target range. Our whole skill sheet was all 10 and I don’t get how other teams beat us that had lower target range. What’s the point of having target range if you are not going to follow it. I feel like there’s favoritism or the placement was where you come from or the school name. If that was the case I would’ve not pushed my team to their highest level and just went with basic routine. My team worked so hard to get to the highest level and mind you they hit every single thing for them to just place low. That’s fcked up. We can’t go back to this day because we can’t even have any explanation from no judges because their decision is always final. And do you notice that you can’t find any judges after the whole thing is done? What if we had questions? What if we want to know why this or why that but no we can’t even find a judge to explain anything. This is unacceptable because I have seniors that can’t go back to this day. This so unacceptable I’m not happy and trust me this will go as high and fat as it needs to go. We got robbed and everyone knows it. If I lose my job for this so be it but I need and want answers.
