I have witnessed judges on phones while supposed to be judging teams, score sheets lowered so another team can win. Judges should be nationally trained and certified not graduates just out of high school. We should bring judges from the mainland so there is no bias judging.

Thank you for sharing the history and your knowledge of competitive cheer competitions in Hawaii and how the points system was created to bring fairness. It seems that these judges are taking advantage of this point system to prevent certain teams from advancing to higher placements. It's sad that competitive cheer has come to this because of unfair judging.

The western’s competition was totally sickening to watch. Aiea, Pearl City, & Leilehua did not deserve the scores and spots that they got. Kapolei and Campbell in my opinion had way better routines, ranges, & were overall better in terms of skills and talent. To see the Campbell team crying during the results hurt because these kids work their butts off and so does Kapolei. I know that these two schools do their best to range high and yet get beaten by schools who are simply just “basic”. Campbell and Kapolei both had higher ranges in everything than those others schools yet had very low scores due to the fact of favoritism. At the competition you can see that some of the coaches are friends with the judges which I believe is totally unprofessional and unfair. Judges need to be fair and honest. Campbell isn’t even moving onto OIA’s and I feel that you all as judges need to reconsider your scores given because everyone notices that Campbell did 10 times better than a team like Leilehua. I’m not trying to bash on any teams but give the credits simply where it’s due. Campbell and Kapolei should’ve been in the top 3. I was a cheerleader so I know what I’m talking about. I know how cheer works and the scores were totally ripped off. Cheer is honestly so rigged and something needs to be fixed. Campbell should be allowed to compete and move onto OIA’s because they truly deserve it more than some of these other teams. Fix this.

The judges were biased and distributed points unfairly. I believe Kapolei and Campbell should have been given higher placements.

I think James Campbell High School Cheer Team as well as Kapolei should be moved through to the next level of competition. The fact that the Campbell coach is not a real cheer coach is besides the point. The fact that the judging panel was biased and awarded high points to their alumn is not okay. I feel these cheer teams were robbed of moving forward. Look at videos from the competition and please reconsider.
