I think this is an important step towards continuing the proud history of the south. The confederacy did not just stand for slavery, it also contained a wide array of knowledge and wisdom. General Robert E Lee understood in the end the overall economic instability of slavery, yet he did not trust a nation that must be kept together through guns and violence. To that end it is of the upmost importance that this integral part of human history is not forgotten.
