This is a part of American history and shouldn't just be wiped out. People seem to forget that the Stars and Stripes flag was originally a flag of slavery too. Shouldn't that one be erased as well then? How about wiping out the image of george washington? Over the course of his lifetime, George Washington owned or controlled more than 577 enslaved people. His involvement with slavery began at age 11 when he inherited 11 enslaved people from his father's estate.

The Confederate Battle Flag symbolized my ancestors fight for their homes and their families.
I have documented many Black Confederate veterans that not only fought, but died in defense of their cause.
This includes free and enslave. Disregarding this basic fact does an injustice to all Americans that want to truly understand their common history.
We might not agree on all the reasons they fought. But we must understand them to understand how we became what we are today.
