Hauppauge School District Parent Choice for Masks

We, the parents and stakeholders of Hauppauge School District, are advocating for parent choice when it comes to mask-wearing during the 2021-2022 school year.
This petition is in favor of mask choice for school-aged children in grades K-12 in Hauppauge School District. We are calling on our Superintendent, School Board, and District Administrators not to mandate masks for 2021-2022 and let parents choose whether or not to have their children masked in school.
Masking has been proven to be ineffective and summer school and camps have been mask-free.
With teachers, staff, and other adults all having the opportunity to be fully vaccinated, the perceived risk of children spreading the virus to adults has been removed. There is no public health justification for forcing children to wear masks in school. It is clear that masks do more harm than good including physical, mental, and emotional harm.
We the parents have the constitutional right to decide what we feel is best for our children.
It is time we give our children back their childhood and allow them the chance to be kids!!!

Follow the science. Masks do not work and kids have next to no chance of contracting nor passing on the virus.
Masks should be a choice, there is no legitimate scientific data to suggest mask wearing or government shutdowns moved the needle in any significant way.
I am a health professional for 29 years and I say don’t mask our kids! It’s criminal and unscientific to mandate this!
Masks have a place but it's not on kids. Use the other methods we used all last year, cohorts, and 6 ft of spacing, and get rid of the masks. Zero science behind the efficacy of masks on kids.
I am a physician at Stony Brook on the front lines, caring for COVID patients. I cannot stress enough how much a mask mandate will make a difference. This pandemic is heartbreaking enough; let’s not have our children and teachers suffer unnecessarily.
Just wear a mask and shut up already you sound like idiots .
No Masks! Let our children BREATH!
