Hatfield Peverel a great village full of character and charm. However over the last couple of years things have begun to change, The Football Team has removed itself from the Recreation ground to relocate over at Wickham Bishops and this has left a huge gap both socially and physically.
I believe,as do many others with whome Ive spoken that Hatfield Peverel is in dire need of a Coffee shop and the recreation ground would be the ideal spot to replace the football hut.
I recently put a proposal into the parish council to combine a new gym/excercise studio with an attached coffee shop that would not only provide good locally produced food, but offer a great social place for the walkers, dog owners and families that all frequent the park. It would also provide a much needed toilet facility aswell.
At this stage no set plan is in force to do anything with the space and obviously it does not have to be my plan that is utilised but I do believe at the very least the Parish council should consider a coffee shop and toilets.....
If you agree please sign this petition and even come along to the next parish council meeting in the Village hall on Monday 6th July if you have an opinion your voice can only be heard if you are ready to VOICE IT.... !

I live couple of miles from the village and I know I'd use the facilities, as would others. The benefits for local businesses and employment to locals can only be a positive thing. It is also close to the A12 for passing trade to stop and get refulled!
I live in terling but my children go to the school and use the park alot so i would love a coffee shop so mums and dads could meet up.I make lots of lovely crafts so maybe i could sell a few bits in there as well.x
This is a great idea to start to bring 'Community' back into the 'community'. The recreation ground is the focal point of the village but pretty soul less after the Football Club moved to pastures new. If this venture could deliver the add-on facility as proposed which all villagers both young and old could benefit from then it gets my full support.
The rec is very popular & would definitely benefit from a cafe/toilets. We are there daily after school & during holidays as are most of the village who have children, so it would be well used. It would encourage people also to be outdoors more promoting fresh air & exercise, which can only be a good thing right?!! It's a great idea! X
Yes there are toilets but the hall is only open when there is a club in which is means it's not accessible 70% of the time. It also has a bar but again only open for social events. this proposal is for a fully functioning coffee shop selling food& snacks and other local wares :-)

I regularly take my grandchildren to the park and have often said wouldn't it be great to have a Coffe shop and toilet facilities the park is so popular ,also think a great idea to have a gym etc for the local people and surrounding area come on parish council listen to the residents please.

Where I lived before in woodford . The council installed a coffee shop selling light bites and healthy snacks including a small nature centre next to the park . It was greatly received . Locals were able to sell crafted and children displayed paintings interesting stuff from around the area . It was a real community hub . It would be nice here also
