Google has an algorithm that unfairly targets breaking news stories by unmonetizing them solely based on the title of the video. This is patent discrimination against alternative media outlets that survive on YouTube for advertising revenue based on the content they create. Mainstream outlets bath in advertising revenue surrounding the reporting of terrorist attacks, murders and wars, yet Google deems these titles racy and unmonetizable based on the title alone. The explanation Google gives is that channels seek to leverage trending topics to gain views, with no substantial content. As a result of this reasoning, the algorithms are built to lump all who have such trending titles, deeming the videos unmonetizable. The end result is discrimination against independent researchers and news outlets, while much more racy channels, such as transexuals on active estrogen therapy, enjoy full monetization, a large subscriber base and 6 digit views on every video. This is a violation of civil rights and is discriminatory against free thought and expression. This is a blatant form of theft and needs to stop. For some channels this is their only source of income to support themselves and their families.
I did not see any sense or facts on the reasons why they unmonetized my videos on a channel that was creating averagely 30us dollars in a day
YouTube is engaging in censorship of videos and this is a violation of free speech. This censorship is also biased in regards to other monetized videos on YouTube.
Agreed. Sadly, my circumstances do not permit me to subsidize my favorite alternative news people, so they NEED fair play!
This is very wrong and extremely discriminatory against anyone they feel is speaking a truth that they do not agree with. This has to stop.

I am Marco, from Québec. It's clear I'm on their blacklist. My channel (Beat The Loop!) is obviously attacked : no views, no subscribers, nothing.. it's ridiculous. But that's ok because with the kind of research I do on google for years, I knew that would happen.. So, I proudly sign this petition and will be fighting for Freedom. with all my Heart Marco
