Need harsher laws for these people that take part in this kind of behavior. The reason they continue to behave in this manner is because the law does absolutely nothing for them to think otherwise. Consequences are non-existent.

I have only lived in Albuquerque nm for3 months and i had my truck stolen . it needs to stop im sure the people who stole it are out on the streets already. And just yesterday i had my vehicle busted into so they could steal a car radio. This is not the new life we where expecting to have here in NM. Good people are leaving for fear of there lives and property. All there will be left in Albuquerque are the thieves if this doesn't stop.

This is getting out of hand already. Us hard working people are being taken advantage by these low lives. I am a recent victim of a break-in to my truck and possible attempt of a theft. There's too many people going through this and something needs to be done.

ABQ investigators do a great job and are some of the sharpest individuals on the force. They are short-staffed and thieves know it. Punishments are light because of over crowded penal systems and thieves know that too. More resources need to be allocated to hard-working crime investigators.

I have been researching ABQ to retire there....but the crime is unacceptable...don't let the criminals ruin your state!

My car was stolen In sept. The house they found it at is known to have 10+ cars recovered from there and there is nothing the cops can do.

If New Mexico is to have any hope of growing economically, we have to get our rampant crime under control. Why would companies and people want to locate to a state that's #1 in the nation in auto theft, not to mention our abysmal record on violent crime and other property crimes?

Longer sentences are in order. Many people do not have the resources to replace a stolen vehicle and the loss can place extreme financial hardship on a family. Insurance does not cover the true value of the stolen vehicle. Car theft, even with insurance coverage, can cost the victim tens of thousands of dollars. Think $50,000 for a new truck!

Caught two idiots in the act of stealing my truck, wrecked into the backend when they were fleeing, and had the nerve to flip me off, for catching them.

APD works hard to get them off the street, just to have them released immediately. Unacceptable! Car theft is a epidemic in Albuquerque and must be dealt with!

A vehicle is considered an extension of your property. If someone steals your vehicle, that should equal someone stealing your house!

Being a victim of this crime in ABQ leaves you paranoid for the future, this needs to end all together, I highly support harsher punishment on these low life scum bags

Thieves broke my steering column trying to steal my truck while I was working at Walmart. It was a $300 repair and now I have to lock my steering wheel. Need harsher penalties!
