I had my PT cruiser stolen and my dad's Ford truck stolen within months of each other. It wasn't a case of keys being left in the car both were stolen from our front yards feet away from our doors and where our kids sleep. We can't let this keep happening with them getting no consequences. They leave with your car and drive reckless all around town endangering innocent people. In my dad's case they drove his car too fast and rolled it off the freeway ramp.

I totally agree that we do need Harsher Punishments. Not just a slap in the hand.

These criminals need to stay locked up & pay for the damage done! They are getting a little slap on the hand (just a little "time-out), then released back to strike again! Something NEEDS to change!!!! We NEED to make our communities safe! It is not fair to our Law Enforcement, to put their LIVES on the line EVERYDAY, just to have these criminals released & ready to do the same thing. People in our communities can't go anywhere anymore, without hearing of some type of crime happening to or near them.

Our truck was recently stolen and it pains me to imagine the crimes that are being committed using our truck. Something must be done to stop these thieves. This is happening way too often.

My Civic Honda was stolen twice from the same address in the Northeast Heights then my brand new Mazda had its Windows smashed in a month after I got it. The first time the thieves were caught I may wear let out almost immediately. I ended up paying almost $1,000 to get my car back into conditions drive and I was one of the lucky ones I got a drivable automobile back. We need harsher punishment so that these guys can get out and keep reoffending and victimizing those in our community!

I am so angry about this situation. My apartment complex averages one car theft or breakin every 4 weeks. That's more than one a month!

My 2004 tahoe has been missing since December 17th. It makes me sick to know how our justice is working.

They took my 07 ford f250 with around 4000 dollars in tools in the truck as an electrician I'm worthless without my tools. We need stiffer punishment for these crimes. People pay the 100 bond and they're back out stealing vehicles again. This has to stop.

My family and I are now stranded due to our truck being stolen. And insurance companies are never willing to help even with full coverage.

There needs to be harsher penalties for vehicle theft. This has been a major issue for years here in Abq and this is still happening because the thieves know that nothing is being done. Our truck was stolen November of last year and still hasn't been located. We were already struggling financially and this was just another major blow to our finances and livelihood. More HAS to be done to scare these thugs so they will stop victimizing innocent families just trying to get by!
