I moved out of state because I was sick of theft. Feels like they know they can get away with it because there is no punishment to meet the crime. Why get a job when you can just steal and not have to work.

Theft used to be punished, even just 15-20 years ago. Today, thieves know there is no jail time, no payback - just a firm "stop doing that" and released to do it all over again.

Harsher punishments for 1st time and repeat offenders.Mandatory rehabilitation for chemical dependent offenders. Since their addictions feed the need to steal.

These thieves need to be off the streets for more than 12 hours. Harsher penalties need to be handed to these people!

I hope n pray these theives get wat they deserve we had our suburban stolen. Our family vehicle. It has been a real struggle!!! Its jus not me n my husbands we have 5 children as well It seems so easy for them to take something from someone that means so much. My husband works hard for that truck. N now there are damages. N they aren't GUna pay for it. It so sad that they think only for themselves and not others that have to deal with the aftermath.

2012 Chevy Traverse stolen out of my garage, cops took 3 hours to respond and the guy ended up getting in troouble for a previous offense.

Courts need to enforce penalties equal to the crime. Car theft is a felony and should be subject to stiffer penalties. Impose penalties that would deter anyone from the idea of wanting to commit the crime.

We have had enough already! We get up everyday very early in the morning to get ready for work, get our kids off to school and try to get to work on time and try to live a life with a lot of things going on ( my family: making ends meet, deaths, divorce, custody battles, etc.) and on top of it out vehicle is stolen, not once but twice! It is such a blow in the face when this happened! Everything and everyone is affected because nothing is done! No punishment! Yet I feel punished! Can't get to work so I get a write up,kids can't get to school so CYFD is called, and let's not forget custody battle.... not looking good right now! BECAUSE I COULD NOT MAKE IT TO A MEDIATION! Damm it something has be done you just can't slap a person on the hand and say FONT DO IT AGAIN!!! Really!!

NM needs to be tougher on ALL criminals! Young & old need to face tougher penalties!
Theives should stay locked up & have to earn $ to repay any/all losses/damages to the victims they're stealing from.

People work hard to buy their vehicles next thing you know their theifs taking them like nothing please do something to help us gwt our vehicles back thank you!!!
