Hardship Registration for the Arabian Horse Association

Great idea. This would be a step in the right direction.

Not a current member, but I have been a member in the past.

If they can be proved with a DNA test that they are purebred or half that they should be allowed to get papers. I know a lot of wonderful Arabs that for some reason don't have papers & this would be great so they can be shown too.

Coming from a girl with a horse whom I can get the parents info of but the breeder refuses to sign, this would mean the world to me !

This is reasonable since DNA testing would provide the supporting documentation. Increase revenue for A.H.A. Increase show entries

Please let us help those horses which through no fault of their own have lost their identity and heritage. Thank you. AHA member #1160635 .

This would greatly help those Arabs in kill pens find homes! Give them a second chance at a great life with a loving family who can show if desired.

I have an Arab that we rescued and she is absolutely gorgeous. She has all the potential in the world to be a class A show horse. Problem is I know nothing about her. Previous owners told me she is registered but they have no clue where her papers are and what her papered name is. I called the AHA to see about a DNA test to identify her and they said the only do "comparing matches." That is so ridiculous they can't find out who she is. If I knew who the dam or sire was I could figure out who she is myself. I can show her all I want in open local shows but because of this DNA flaw she will not have the chance to be what she was bred to be. There has to be another way and I know I'm not the only person in this situation.

I've been saying this for years. I know several horses who are clearly purebred or partbred arabians who would happily compete at AHA shows if they could register them somehow. More registration and show/member fees for AHA and the rescue horses have another opportunity at life:)

I strongly support this type of registration classification

Not a current member, but I showed in the AHA circuit for several years on my Arabs. I currently work with a rescue that's had a handful of show quality Arabs and Arab crosses. This would be a great opportunity for those "lost" Arabs to become more desireable to adopt if they were able to be shown as well as an opportunity to expand the numbers of the AHA show attendance.

i AM A MEMBER BUT DONT HAVE THE NUMBER IN FRONT OF ME i HAVE SEVERAL HORSES THAT I KNOW ARE PUREBRED WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO GET EVEN HALF PAPERS ON THE GELDINGS THANK YOU I HAVE HAD ARABIANS FOR 40 YEARS tHE HORSES I HAVE ARE FROM THE TREXLER CASE AND HE HAD SOME NICE HORSES ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

So many beautiful, well bred Arabians are at auctions and rescues with no papers-even though some were registered at some point. Allowing "hardship" registrations would help save these animals and bring more people into AHA shows.

My first horse was an Arabian that was sold without her papers. I am 99% sure I found her in the AHA database, but it was before DNA was a thing, so there was no way to prove it. I would've killed to be able to register her and show her locally.

Would be nice if were less expensive! Friend just bought a gelding whose is a PB and all the paperwork is in place, just need all the money to do it!

This would be a great opportunity. More participants and spectators would attend shows as well.
