I think we can all agree that an increase in traffic has been detrimental to the condition of the road. Marywood subdivisions growth and the development of housing on 168th just south of the bridge has grown. The road unfortunately does not meet ANY rural or subdivision road specifications that are recognized by city, county or state engineering. The design cross-sections for TR-608 which are design levels for upgrade are not met. This road does not mee the DL-4 standard for narrow grannular maintenance. There is no crown for the center of the road or water run off capability which is a standard. Most of the road from the paved road on past the Marywood subdivision has dirt curbs that prevent water runoff. I would think that some form of pavement would be more cost effective and fiscally more responsible then the continued re-application of gravel that last no more then 20-30 days. Please consider pavement or, at a minimum invest in bringing the road up to the standards that are recommended per TR-608

The road is used by the many visitors of the Bank Swallow Bend Wildlife Area throughout the year. This is adding to the increasingly heavy traffic on the road.

the road becomes a muddy minimum maintenance road after it rains. A road with this much traffic should be paved. Bank Swallow Bend visitors (birdwatchers, hunters, fisherman, hikers) are continuously dusted due to non-stop gravel dust from the heavy traffic.

Traffic volume clearly defines need. Traffic has and will continue to grow. Clay and mud base creates hazardous conditions to vehicles and drivers. The vehicles and residence will thank you!
