A 17 year old, 440 pound, Western Lowland Gorilla was shot and killed shortly after a 3 year old child slipped into the Gorilla's enclosure. Harambe, which is the name of the Gorilla, approached the child, and protected him. Pictures of Harambe holding hands with the child have surfaced, so because of these acts of kindness, Harambe has stolen the hearts of many American citizens. Because of this, the American people are outraged at the situation and the fact that they took the life of an innocent Gorilla due to the mother of the child's neglecting nature towards her son, people believe that the mother should of been penalized because of the indecent. Keep in mind, that the particular breed of Gorilla Harambe is, is critically endangered, with less that 100,000 individuals left in the wild, while humans are already overpopulated. The other side to this argument is that people believe that Harambe's intentions were strictly to harm the child, and they thought that tranquilizing the Gorilla would not act fast enough to save the child, and only aggravate him more.
