Skateparks are a necessity for well developed areas. They allow children, teenagers, and adults to exercise while creating new friends and role models. The town's investment would not be wasted, as other instances show skateparks in the area are always in use (unlike soccer fields, baseball fields, etc). It is important to give children a hobby to enjoy, friends to love, and a challenge to overcome. Skateboarding saves lives.

Skateboarding kept me out of trouble growing up and even now. I have a 3 year old daughter I would love nothing more than to be able to teach her to skateboard down the street in our hometown!!

Skate parks ultimately keep kids out of trouble and gives them a safe place to go and practice after school. Build a skate park, save a life.

A skate park would be very beneficial to the community. It would allow kids to skateboard, roller blade/roller skate, and bike in an enclosed area away from the streets.

A skatepark in my hometown has been long overdue. If we wanted to skate legally at a skate park we would either have to drive to York pa or Westminster md. I've seen a lot of people fall out of skateboarding the skateboard community due to either affraid to get fines or couldn't physically travel out of town to go skateboard. I've seen a lot of those great people that couldn't feed that outlet that skateboarding let them fulfill, so a lot of them turned to drugs because there's really nothing else to do around here. It's really sad. I think a skatepark could really help the youth community of this town. It can help people communicate with each other, form friend groups and healthy relationships, keep kids out of trouble and give them something To do in this town! This could be a great opportunity for my beloved hometown
