Health officials have stated time and again that proper handwashing is a top defense against cold and flu season. Currently, the restrooms for students, faculty and visitors at P.S. 58 are not being maintained with soap and towels to aid in this basic but very important health & hygiene measure. The recent notice sent home regarding students being treated for the flu, one of which is a confirmed H1N1 case (a.k.a Swine Flu), is a reminder that we must continue to let our concerns be known to the principal and school officials, and that it is imperative to have all restrooms, not just the classrooms, stocked with soap, towels and running water.
