Back to the old Glamorgan Council set up - lets keep a Council that works for the Vale. Cardiff is big enough to work on its own does ity realy need the Vale to help it?

It would be a real shame to see a beautiful rural area and a successful local authority like the Vale losing its character by being swallowed by Cardiff.

If a merger is inevitable one with the other coastal Glamorgan councils would make more sense. Ie with Bridgend and, even, Neath/Port Talbot. Best would be no merger with any council. Perhaps sharing some services would be a sensible alternative.

The Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff would be be a. Disastrous pairing and the Vale would definitely come off worse. Bridgend would be a more sensible pairing as they both have similar requirements.

Prior to the formation of Unitary Authorities in 1996 as part of South Glamorgan the needs of the Vale were not a priority.We feel it would be disastrous to return to that situation

I think it is most inappropriate for Cardiff to merge with The Vale as they are completely different types of area.

THE VALE OF GLAMORGAN IS AN EFFICIENT COUNTY BOROUGH AND A MERGER WITH CARDIFF IS NOT A FEASIBLE OPTION FOR MANY REASONS
