We have out identity I appreciate the cost saving s in the long run but maybe a merge in the other direction such as Bridgend if necessary to merge with someone the demography and social economic dynamics of this area match vogcc far better than the metropolis called cardiff

I do not wish to be part of Greater Cardiff, we get little enough from them now and would get less if we merged with them, needless to say, the councilors and bureaucrats would soon vote themselves a bumper pay rise claiming the extra responsibility justifies it.... SAY NO NOW or pay later.

I have had experience of working in Cardiff as a County Councillor representing an area of the Vale. The Vale was outvoted daily by the Cardiff based councillors on the simplest of issues - a warning of what might come in the future. Look at Cardiff's current problems - lack of space for tens of thousands of new houses, closure of libraries and leisure facilities, cuts to every type of service. Is this what Vale residents want ? AND who wants to be in a new county with getting on for half a million people all jostling for money for their area stretching from the outskirts of Newport to Culverhouse Cross. That says it all - KEEP the Vale (but with Bridgend if really necessary).

South Glamorgan failed us completely in the Vale. Cardiff took everything. We must never go back to those days!

Anyone who can remember the old South Glamorgan days when Cardiff took ALL the money for the Bay development and left Barry and the rest of the Vale waste away MUST surely oppose rejoining with Cardiff!
