The band should not be given to 1 company for profit at the expense of radio a.atures who use this band and many others who pay annual fees for the use of the bands, they are also used during emergencies localy

The service which AST aims to provide by use of the 70cm ham band is possible on other portions of spectrum already in use and leased by commercial applications and operators. Their desire to use this band stems from the low power requirements and light weight of cheap components, keeping the cost of satellites as low as possible. While I can understand those to be desirable traits to ensure maximum profits for AST, auctioning or selling off this piece of spectrum will cost the amateur radio community much more dearly. Taking yet another slice of spectrum away from amateur radio, especially one of the few bands available to the lowest license classes, is a disservice to the amateur radio community. This will only stifle future amateur radio talent and thus future radio innovation. There are millions of 70cm amateur radios in the world. Interference between a satellite constellation which aims to deliver cellular service worldwide will make our use of the band difficult, if not impossible. The same may also be true for AST’s use of the band if amateur radio operators should choose to ignore the removal of this key band from our privileges and refuse to yield.

Keep commercial operators out of our Amateur Radio bands.

As a citizen and ham operator I ask in the strongest and loudest voice to NOT allow AST SpaceMobile to use the 70 cm spectrum in or near Amateur Radio or GMRS bands. Respectfully, Ricky LeFevers KJ7R WRZE595

As a amateur radio licensee and GMRS licensee, I use the 70 cm band daily for AllStar nodes, DMR, and Yaesu System Fusion. I also rely on GMRS for family and community communications. Commercial satellites in this spectrum would disrupt these services, potentially force amateur activity onto the overcrowded 2 m band, and cause interference to GMRS users. Please keep this spectrum free for amateur and personal radio service use.

Please do not take away our ham radio usage.
