70cm band is used not only by amateurs, but emergency workers and first responders around the world. Granting AST exclusive rights over these frequencies is preposterous and would set a dangerous precedent. AST wants frequencies for C&C use the ones already allocated for that purpose.

Amateur radio plays a vital roll in emergency communications. Removing another band to carry out such communications restricts the ability for amateur operators to do that job. Building a new service can be built for any frequency. Amateurs don't have that capability. Removing one of the few bands we have reduces the services we can provide in emergency scenarios. As well as cutting down the ability to draw new amateurs to the hobby, which only reduces the available assistance when it's needed. Please work to find another piece of spectrum for your commercial endeavors.

Keep our bands free from commercial exploitation

It is requested the application for AST Space Mobile's infringement into amateur radio frequencies be denied. Amateur Radio operators operate an extremely small segment of frequencies, relative to all other operations. Removing even a small portion is damaging to our frequencies.

You have already given much of the ham band to commercial use. Enough is enough.

I believe Amateur Radio should keep these frequencies. I do not believe we should give them up.

Please reject any and all proposals to use amateur radio bands for commercial use.

Keep 70cm free for everyone to use.

Taking Ham Bands beacuse you dont want to pay premium money for your own is not fiar, acceptable and very disrespectful to one of the oldest amateur-hobbyist practices in hostory for which we all, including the esteemed parties who wish to claim this, have to thank for the very technology you employ. Deny AST! Save the 79m band for Amateur Radio

AST's intention to exploit the 70cm ham band is not only feasible but raises serious concerns regarding the existing commercial operators in other segments of the spectrum. Their decision to target this band stems from attractive low power requirements and the availability of lightweight, affordable components, which may drive down their satellite costs. However, this approach is a direct threat to the amateur radio community. Removing yet another segment of spectrum designated for amateur radio, particularly one accessible to entry-level license holders, profoundly undermines our community. This encroachment will hinder the growth of future amateur talent and stifle innovation in radio technology. With millions of 70cm amateur radios in operation worldwide, any interference from a satellite network attempting to provide global cellular service could render this band practically unusable for us. Furthermore, AST could run into significant resistance if amateur radio operators push back against the removal of this essential band and refuse to relinquish their rights to its use.

Please do not take away the amateur radio frequencies!!!

The lifesaving communication services recently provided by amateur radio operators in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene should be evidence enough of the value of preserving the amateur radio bands.
