There is already a desperate shortage of beds, closing Cottage hospitals will only make this situation far worse. Also it allows people, who are perhaps not well enough to go straight home from a main hospital, to regain the fitness needed to then go home. Another consideration is that is often much easier for friends and family to visit, thus aiding recovery.

Closing newquay hospital will put a massive strain on other nearby hospitals which are already pushed to the limit. Being pushed to the limit is when mistakes are made!

Treliske says go to community hospital we are on black alert, if they close Newquay is that not breach of contract? We pay national insurance for the NHS an NHS that does not exist in Cornwall either on black alert or closed that is fraud

There is much need for Newquay Hospitals. It has undergone refurbishments too which would render its closure even dafter!

With Newquay doubling in size over the coming years, make no sense to close this hospital.

elderly parents visit hospital often, either for visiting friends on the ward or for there own appts. would find it very difficult to get to Truro as mother has dementia and father is her carer.

Newquay hospital needs to stay fully functioning, it's closure will lead to depriving big chunk of the county population from medical treatment and will add more pressure on RCHT which already in black alert most of the time, this would eventually lead to succumbing of the whole health care system in Cornwall.

Treslike is already under enough strain..... Seems silly to try and close the local hospital units.

Cornwall has to build over 52,000 homes before 2020. The NHS at Treliske already cannot cope...now need to say more

With an increasing population in the Newquay area it is ridiculous to close this hospital.
Newquay Hospital is nearer to Padstow than Bodmin Hospital, yet Padstow patients are sent to Bodmin. I understand that Bodmin Hospital is rented from the private sector at a massive increasing cost! .

We need the hospital to stay open for the minor injuries to ensure people do not have to go and clog up treliske for injuries small enough to deal with here.
