Newquay is growing massively and with only 2 GP practices we need to keep our hospital too. Treliske is already over stretched and the idea of closing Newquay hospital is just ridiculous . Not to mention the number of jobs that will be lost. Closing our hospital will potentially put lives at risk with patients having to wait longer to be seen with Truro being a minimum of 20 minutes away and then hours of waiting to be seen because treliske is far too busy, under staffed, and usually partially closed due to infections and illness. Crazy idea, leave Newquay hospital alone

It makes perfect sense to keep Newquay hospital open for minor injuries. Surely it relieves the main hospital in Truro which is already under very severe pressure.

It's ridiculous shutting this hospital when the RCHT is under so much pressure... social care and hospital at home will not work without the proper funding

If you take away our hospital in Newquay
Surely it will put more pressure on the already drowning Trelisk especially with all the new housing developments. I have first hand experience of lying on a trolley in Trelisk A&E for five hours only a couple of months ago.

My family and I are Newquay residents. We have had to visit Newquay hospital on several occasions over the years. Without the local hospital we would have had to call an ambulance on at least one of those occasions. Newquay needs this hospital especially with the expanding population

Having been born and brought up in newquay our family have used newquay hospital frequently over the years, either for minor treatment or respite care on the wards, this was a godsend especially when had elderly relatives and they found it difficult to travel to hospitals further afield, we were always treated so well by the drs and nurses and specialists who visited, please consider all these comments before closing this lovely little hospital, please dont let it become another casualty in the name of progression and another building lost to newquay and its community

Our community desperately needs this hospital as more and more houses are being built. It will take the pressure off of Treliske. It has enough to contend with without all of Newquay going over there.

Newquay is expanding very quickly, new houses are being built quickly, this would be a massive loss to a very growing population.

This hospital is needed in this town, massive tourist population and surfers, massive housing estates going up where these amenities are vital especially considering the strain Treliske is already under.

I cannot believe this closure is being considered, Newquay is getting bigger by the day, it takes at least 25 minutes to get to Treliske on a good day in the winter and perhaps another 25 to find a parking space and get to A and E On a personal note I spent 6 weeks in Newquay Hospital as a child 65years ago and it has been used by my family so many times over the years for major hospitalization ,operations (back in the day ) X-rays, A and E so many, many times. Imagine all the ambulances that would be called if people haven't their own transport its just crazy !!!!!
